Guidance only. Doctoral degrees are awarded solely by the recognised university concerned.
Please read first. BGLRGM does not award doctoral degrees and does not represent that it
can secure admission to any doctoral programme. This page provides information and admission guidance
only. A Ph.D. is awarded solely by the recognised university that admits and examines the candidate,
under that university's own regulations.
What guidance covers
Understanding eligibility requirements published by recognised universities
Identifying the vocational and applied disciplines relevant to your background
Preparing a research area and a preliminary proposal outline
Understanding entrance test, interview and coursework requirements
Understanding supervision, registration, progress review and submission timelines
Typical eligibility set by universities
Indicative only — the university's own regulations prevail.
A master’s degree in a relevant discipline, ordinarily with the minimum marks the university prescribes
A qualifying entrance examination or an exemption recognised by that university
An interview or presentation before the university’s research committee
Availability of a supervisor in the proposed area
How to proceed
Speak to us about your qualification, experience and area of interest
We share information on recognised universities offering doctoral programmes in that field
You apply directly to the university and deal with it directly thereafter
Any fee for a doctoral programme is paid to that university, never to BGLRGM
Caution: be wary of any offer of a
doctoral degree without university admission, coursework, supervision and examination. If anyone claims
to offer such a degree in BGLRGM's name, please report it to us immediately.
