Academic Regulations

Programme structure, attendance, internal assessment, practical training and progression.

Last updated: August 2026. This page forms part of the terms under which BGLRGM Institute of Vocational Education & Training provides its programmes and services.

1. Programme structure

Each programme is delivered as a combination of classroom instruction, practical or laboratory work and workplace-based learning. Programme duration, credit or hour distribution and the assessment pattern are published on the programme page and in the student handbook.

2. Attendance

A minimum of 75% attendance is required in each subject to be eligible for the end-of-term examination. Condonation on documented medical grounds may be considered up to the limit notified for the programme. Workplace training attendance is certified by the partner supervisor.

3. Internal assessment

Internal assessment is based on periodical tests, assignments, practical records, projects and participation. Marks are published on the student portal before the external examination.

4. Practical training, internship and OJT

Where a programme prescribes practical training, internship or on-the-job training, completion is a condition for the award of the certificate. Learners must maintain a training log and obtain the supervisor's assessment.

5. Progression

Promotion to the next term is subject to the attendance, assessment and training requirements above. Arrear subjects must be cleared within the period permitted for the programme.

6. Transfer and discontinuation

Transfer between centres may be permitted subject to seat availability and clearance of dues. A learner who discontinues must apply in writing; refunds are governed by the Refund & Cancellation Policy.

7. Records and certificates

Mark statements, course completion certificates and, where applicable, industry experience certificates are issued after all requirements are met and dues cleared. All records are verifiable online.
